Zarah van der Pal

Zarah started her PhD at the department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at the Amsterdam UMC in October 2020. Before that, she obtained her Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences, completing the Neuroscience track, at Leiden University. During her PhD, Zarah investigates the effects of stimulant medication on brain and behaviour. She makes use of structural, functional and pharmacological MRI, which can be applied to measure the brain’s response to psychotropic medication. Zarah’s main project is the ePOD study, a long-term follow-up study of boys and men with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) that aims to elucidate the effects of treatment with ADHD medication on brain development.
