Leon Balthaus studied Biomedical Sciences at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and obtained his Master’s degree in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology in 2026 through a joint program between Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and the University of Amsterdam. As of October 2026, he is a PhD candidate focused on integrating neurotransmitter data with functional connectivity data to investigate how psychotherapeutic treatments modulate these systems. Additionally, his project involves building whole-brain computational models using this data and assessing their predictive power regarding therapeutic outcomes in patients.
