In her PhD, Fleur investigates heart and lung haemodynamics in patients with pulmonary hypertension using 4D Flow MRI, under the guidance of Pim van Ooij and Eric Schrauben. Her project is in joint collaboration with the department of Pulmonary Medicine, working with Anton Vonk Noordegraaf and Lilian Meijboom. She has a background in Technical Medicine (joint degree with TU Delft, Leiden University and Erasmus University) and joined the MRI Research group in November 2025.
While new to the MRI research group, Fleur is already familiar with the Amsterdam UMC, having completed internships in the departments of Anaesthesiology, Biomedical Engineering and Physics, and Radiology and Nuclear medicine during her master’s program. Throughout her studies, she has been passionate about understanding human physiology through a technical lens, a focus she continues to explore in her PhD research.
