Eating behavior, metabolism, and treatment effectiveness for obesity differ between men and women, yet the underlying neurobiological mechanisms remain largely unclear. This project focuses on the role of the dopamine system in obesity and how it may be influenced by sex. Using advanced neuroimaging analysis (REACT), we examine how sex affects dopamine-related brain connectivity in individuals with obesity. We also investigate how these sex-specific patterns relate to behavioral and treatment outcomes. The findings may help pave the way for more personalized, sex-specific treatments for obesity.
