ePOD: Effects of psychotropic drugs of the developing brain

Stimulant medication, like methylphenidate, is commonly used as treatment for ADHD in children. However, its long-term effects on brain development are not well-understood. There are indications that stimulant medication has a different impact on the brains of children than adults. In the ePOD project, we aim to investigate the (long-term) effects of stimulant medication on brain development in a unique cohort of children and adults with ADHD using structural and functional brain MRI scans, computer tasks, questionnaires and sleep data.
